As service designers, part of our role is to collect and use information about people to help us design better services. Through this we often find out a great deal about who the participants are and how they live. It’s crucial to collect this information from participants in an ethical way, and store it securely to protect people’s privacy.
We’ll be sharing practical measures you can take to ensure the security of participant's data. We'd also like to discuss what new ways we could develop as a community of managing consent and data to make research more empowering for participants, and more respectful of their privacy.
